STUDIO PERFORMANCES

Taylor Austin Dye | Performance Studio

Jul 23, 2026, 2:15 PM

Taylor Austin Dye sang “Bible Belt,” unreleased “Bad Drunk” and “Man For That” – her first single sent to country radio – in 98.5 KYGO’s Performance Studio.

Dye has had an interesting and eventful life thus far, to say the least.

The country rocker was raised on a tobacco farm in eastern Kentucky – Booneville, to be exact, which has a population of less than 200. Her life as an entertainer and musician began at age 5, when she started clogging, singing and playing the fiddle – all at the same time – on a variety show called “Renfro Valley Barn Dance.”

From there, she took her head start and continued to play throughout high school in various bluegrass bands and continued on to study classical voice, business and German at Kentucky’s Georgetown College.

Playing in a radio station studio is a full-circle moment for the Kentuckian, given she hosted her own drive time radio show in central Kentucky for a couple of years before taking off to pursue her music career in Nashville in 2018.

The rest of her journey, some might say, is a bit more conventional.

Dye hit the ground running and played in numerous bars on Broadway, and one of her big breaks came in 2023 when her single “Rest in Peace” amassed millions of TikTok views and Spotify streams. It remains her most-streamed song on the platform, currently sitting at 8 million.

The Booneville native has since signed to Red Street Records and has released two albums – “Out of These Hills” (2023) and “Sick Of Me” (2024) – although she teases that another full-length project is in the works. She released her single “First” on July 17.

Supporting Trace Adkins, Dye will perform at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo July 24.
