Sorry, but Denver likely won’t see a foot of snow or more this week

My grandma always used to tell me that sometimes the best thing you can do is admit when you’re wrong. So. last week when I posted an article that referenced one weather model that predicted Denver could see a foot of snow or more, I was wrong.
First off, I am not a meteorologist and I understand very little about weather. So why would I write about it? Well, at the time it felt pretty simple… There’s a real report that says Denver could see a bunch of snow, so I figured I should tell everyone about it. What I’ve learned since is basically that all weather models are not created equal, and this particular one was far-fetched. Many professionals reached out and explained how talking about major weather events happening can impact people’s lives and even put some in danger. So, I’ve learned something and I plan on chatting with my new weather-buddies before talking about storms moving forward.
All that said, that far-fetched model was incorrect… Surprise, surprise! As of publishing this article, our partners at 9News say Friday (Mar. 7), the day we were supposed to get the big snow, will see a high of 44 degrees and, “the current solution in the modeling shows less than an inch of snow in Denver by Saturday morning but hopefully the higher suburbs around the city might be able to do better. It’s still a week out so anything can happen.”
