Some people hate the idea of a second Colorado Buc-ee’s so much that they’re driving around a school bus in protest

A year or so ago when Buc-ee’s opened their first Colorado location in Johnstown I could’ve sworn that everyone loved the gas station/convenience store. Turns out there are some who are very anti-Buc-ee’s in Colorado, after all…

Buc-ee’s is in the early stages of trying to build a second travel store and gas station location in Colorado. The proposed location is in El Paso County, between Denver and Colorado Springs.

Some of the folks who live in that area really do not want it, though. A former school bus with a banner that reads “Stop Buc-ee’s” has been traveling throughout northern El Paso County.

At a town hall meeting in December, Palmer Lake residents voiced concerns over traffic impacts, weather along the interstate, light pollution, property values and impacts from wildlife migration in the area.

You have to really hate the idea of something to get a school bus, put a message on it, and then drive it around in protest!
