Some Colorado cops are now allowed to wear cowboy hats

Those in Arapahoe County have started rocking cowboy hats. The last time it was allowed was in the early 1980s.
The sheriff recently approved the new dress code, making it voluntary. The approved cowboy hat for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies is the black wool Stetson from the Stallion Collection. The black Stetson hats cost approximately $160 at stetson.com and will have to be purchased by officers if they choose to wear the hat as part of the uniform for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
This follows the same policy change recently made by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
