Shopping mall staple, Claire’s is closing 300 stores, five are in Colorado

If they close all of the Claire’s where will people get their ears pierced or buy earrings?
Since 1978 Claire’s stores have been a staple in shopping malls, and the go-to place for cheap jewelry, but the end of an era could be coming. Claire’s made the closing announcement after in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, and announced plans to close 330 stores for now. Five of them are in Colorado.
The stores closing in Colorado are:
- Colorado Springs – The Citadel 750 Citadel Dr East #2352
- Castle Rock – The Outlets At Castle Rock 5050 Factory Shops Blvd #655
- Westminster – Orchard Town Center 14643 Orchard Parkway #600
- Glenwood – Glenwood Meadows 15 Market Street Ste E15
- Lakewood – Belmar 7160 W Alaska Drive
Sales at the closing locations are planned to finish by Sept. 7, 2025, according to the company’s court filings.
Claire’s operates more than 2,750 Claire’s stores in 17 countries throughout North America and Europe, and 190 Icing stores in North America.
