Cole Swindell wrapped up his whirlwind Twelve Tour over the weekend. Now, for most artists, the final performance is already going to be emotional. However, Cole took it one step further by performing a yet-to-be-released song about his mama called Heads Up Heaven. Swindell’s mom, Betty Carole Rainey, passed away in 2021 and his sweet and loving ballad details his prayer (or warning so-to-speak) about what is in store for Heaven when his mom gets there. Cole sings about how his mom has never been in a mansion, so please excuse her reaction and she’ll probably head strait to the kitchen. He wraps up this heart-wrenching song with “heads-up heaven, there’s a good one coming your way.” (Real talk, I’m having a hard time seeing the screen through tears right now.) See a video of the performance here. I have to warn ya, ugly crying and moco bubbles will follow.
Mark Chesnutt has given us an update on his current health situation. You might remember last week’s Music City Minute where I talked about Mark’s sudden trip to the E.R. and hospitalization. Well, according to a new social media post, the Brother Jukebox star detailed a long history of unspecified health struggles that he tried to overcome himself. Unfortunately, those issues reared their ugly head and Mark could no longer fight them on his own. He said he will be taking the next few months off from touring to focus on getting better. Mark thanked his friends, family and fans for their never ending love and support. He ended his message on an encouraging note, saying he will be back out on the road in February. We are sending positive and healing vibes his way!
