Review – Is the Force Strong with The Mandalorian and Grogu

Friday May 22 Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu will be moving from your TV screens to the big screen as the two favorite characters get their first movies.
And while the Mandalorian’s favorite quote is “This is the Way”, is that the case for the movie, or is it NOT the way?
The answer is falls in between for me. If you loved the show on Disney+, I think at the very least you will enjoy this movie. This feels like 3 or 4 episodes pushed together to make a movie which includes all the Star Wars fun you’d expect, with some great one-lines, great action and c’mon, Grogu!
But when we get to the point where offspring of Jabba The Hutt appear looking like they are on steroids and pulling off John Wick moves, I have my concerns. Especially when that Jabba the Hutt offspring is speaking in full clear sentences (voiced by Shameless and the Bear star Jeremy Allen White) which is not the Hutt’s I know!
Just because you have access to CGI, doesn’t mean you always have to use it. While some of those visuals can take a toll, making me feel like I’m watching a video game cut scene vs a movie, at the end of the day its a fun ride and probably a good way to kick off your Memorial Day Weekend!
