Savannah Bananas players to serve coffee at Denver-area Dunkin’ locations before Coors Field games

The Savannah Bananas – the backflipping, kilt-wearing, TikTok-famous baseball team with more followers than every MLB franchise – are bringing their Banana Ball World Tour to Coors Field on Aug. 14-15. But before they take the diamond, a few of their players are taking over a Dunkin’ drive-thru.

On Friday, Aug. 14, players from the Savannah Bananas and the Indianapolis Clowns will go behind the counter at the Greenwood Village Dunkin’ at 9595 E. Arapahoe Road from 9 to 11 a.m. to serve coffee, sign autographs and take photos with fans. The first 250 people through the door will score free coffee for 100 consecutive days through the Dunkin’ Rewards app.

Dunkin’, the official coffee and breakfast partner of the Banana Ball Championship League, is also parking its Dunkin’ Cruiser outside Coors Field before both games to hand out free samples, $5 promotional gift cards and giveaways. And earlier this month, the company surprised HopeKids families with 30 tickets to the Coors Field games, along with coffee, donuts and Refreshers.

For the uninitiated, Banana Ball is the sport baseball would be if baseball stopped taking itself so seriously: no bunting, a two-hour time limit, fans can catch foul balls for outs, batters can steal first base and tied games end in a one-on-one showdown. The Bananas have racked up more than 8 million TikTok followers doing things like fielding fly balls with backflips and sending a player to the plate on stilts.

So mark your calendar: free coffee, autographs from the internet’s favorite baseball team and a sport where stealing first base is a legitimate strategy.
