Popular 50-year-old breakfast joint in Denver to close for good

Sadly, longtime popular restaurants closing around Colorado is pretty common these days. Still, it’s always a sad day when another favorite announces they’re down to their final days, and that was the case in Denver again.

The Breakfast Inn, that was named by “Westword” as one of the best diners in Denver, announced on it’s Instagram page that it is permanently closing on Sunday, June 8, at 2 p.m.

The owner of the restaurant that’s been at 6135 E. Evans Ave., near South Monaco Parkway and East Evans Avenue since 1976, said in part, “After a year of fighting the good fight, our lease was not renewed and the property has been sold.”

The good news is the restaurant’s owner, David Frieder, has another restaurant in the metro area, “EAT! Food & Drink“, that serves breakfast, brunch and lunch in Broomfield, and they serve the same pancakes that The Breakfast Inn was famous for.
