Dozens of Easter egg hunts planned across the Denver area this week

Easter is Sunday (April 5), so if you have kids this is your reminder to get to the store this week and build the perfect Easter basket. It’s also a good reminder that there are a bunch of Easter egg hunts planned around the Denver-area. Here are the ones we know about:

Saturday, April 4

  • Eggcessible Eggstravaganza, 9 a.m. to noon, Community Park, Thornton. Free.
  • Broomfield Easter/Spring Spectacular, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Broomfield Community Center. Free.
  • Jared’s Nursery Easter Egg Hunt, starting at 10 a.m., 10500 W. Bowles Ave., Littleton. Free. More than 20,000 plastic Easter eggs, with staggered start times by age group. The event has run annually since 2007.
  • Arvada Community Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m. to noon, Robby Ferrufino Park. Free.
  • Family Egg Hunt at Four Mile Historic Park, 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., 715 S. Forest St., Denver. Tickets range from $20 to $40. Age-specific scrambles, tractor rides and photos with the Easter Bunny.
  • St. James Presbyterian Church Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m., 3601 W. Belleview Ave., Littleton. Free and open to the public.
  • Highlands Ranch Community Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Westridge Rec Center. Free.
  • Hyland Hills Easter Eggstravaganza, noon to 3 p.m., Adventure Golf & Raceway. Free.
  • Belmar Bunny Trails, noon to 3 p.m., Belmar in Lakewood. Free.
  • Easter Eggstravaganza at Town Center at Aurora, noon to 4 p.m. Free.
  • Castle Rock Special Egg Hunt, noon to 2 p.m., Front Range Church. Free.
  • Easter Eggstravaganza, 9 a.m. to noon, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood. Free.

Sunday, April 5 (Easter)

  • Easter Egg Hunt, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Mestizo-Curtis Park, 1021 30th St., Denver. Hosted by The Summit Church. Free snacks, games and candy-filled eggs.
  • Green Valley Ranch Community Egg Hunt, 11 a.m., Denver.

Beyond the metro area

  • Frisco Easter Egg Hunt, noon, Main Street, Frisco. The 23rd annual event will feature 5,000 hidden Easter eggs. Free.
  • Longmont Underwater Easter Egg Hunt, where children dive into a pool to collect eggs.

Mile High on the Cheap, a Denver-area deals website, has compiled a list of more than 63 egg hunts and Easter festivals across the region.
