No Colorado team’s made the men’s basketball tournament, but both CU & CSU are in the women’s

As you start to fill out your office brackets this year, you’ll notice there are no Colorado men’s team to root for. However, on the women’s side, both of Colorado’s major universities are in the Tournament!
The Colorado women’s basketball team was awarded one of the 37 at-large berths into the 2026 NCAA tournament and will make its 17th appearance in the national tourney. The Buffs received the 10-seed in one of the two Fort Worth quadrants of the bracket and will face Illinois in a first-round game on Saturday (Mar. 21), at 7:30 p.m. MT at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Meanwhile, the Colorado State women’s basketball team is back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016 and is set to take on fifth-seeded Michigan State in the First Round in Norman, Okla., on Friday (March 20). That game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. MT on ESPNEWS.
