Running from the cops is always a bad idea, but if you insist on doing it, avoiding ski traffic on I-70 in Colorado is probably a good idea!
A man suspected of murder in Florida was captured in Colorado under those circumstances recently!
According to the US Marshals Service, the man who was captured is suspected of a homicide that took place during a December 26 burglary in Bradenton, Florida. A warrant for the suspect’s arrest was issued on January 6, and information that later followed indicated that the suspect had reportedly fled Florida and was attempting to travel to California.
On January 22, the US Marshals Service’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force learned that the suspect was traveling westbound through the Centennial State via bus, but was delayed due to a major traffic accident in the Vail area. At that point, the Vail Police Department was contacted for assistance, with members of their SWAT team able to identify the suspect and take him into custody that evening.
The suspect was booked into Eagle County Jail on the homicide warrant out of Florida and at last report, was awaiting extradition.
