Residents in the Town of Castle Rock have built a shrine to honor “the rock.” No, I am not talking about the town’s namesake landmark, or Dwayne Johnson.
The rock I am talking about was located at the entrance to Sprouts Farmers Market on Allen Way. It was the bane of many-a-driver’s existence.
The “Sprouts Rock” is locally famous for the number of cars that ended up high-centered and stuck on the rock. Employees and shoppers saw more than their fair share of tow trucks rescuing hapless drivers off the rock.
I decided to visit the parking lot where the “Sprouts Rock” held dominion. Upon my arrival, I noticed a new, larger rock now sits where the original rock was located. After about five minutes of searching, I found the infamous “Sprouts Rock” moved to a different, less dangerous, section of the lot.
Facebook groups and a memorial have been set up in honor of the original rock, and the wrath it caused, by you know, just sitting there.
