Imagine parking at Denver International Airport for about a half an hour, expecting to pay $7, but instead getting hit with a bill for about $20,000. That nightmare became a reality for someone recently.
Jim Boyd dropped his wife off at the airport on Thursday and ended up spending a grand total of 27 minutes parked in the garage. That should’ve been a charge of $7. Instead, after he paid the fee with his card and left the garage, his phone notifications started going off. It was his bank notifying him that Denver parking had charged him $19,824.
Boyd then looked at his receipt and saw that it said he’d been parking there since June 6, resulting in a charge of 169,000 minutes worth of parking.
Fortunately, the airport and the parking provided acknowledged the error and quickly rectified the situation.
I personally think they should give the guy free parking for life for the stress this must’ve caused!
