Locally Owned Denver Movie Theaters Close After 23 Years

Mar 2, 2023, 4:42 PM

You don’t see many mom and pop movie theaters these days, and they just got fewer and more far between.

Colorado family-owned movie theater chain, Elvis Cinemas has permanently closed. They announced the closure on their website and social media Wednesday.

After 23 years, “Elvis Cinemas has closed for good,” the theater said in a statement. “Thanks to everyone who was a part or was a patron for the last 23 years. We will miss all of you.”

Elvis Cinemas had operated locations in Arvada, Littleton and in Denver on East Hampden Avenue.

While Elvis Cinemas had screened discounted second-run movies in the past, the company had switched to first-run films in recent years.
