Lion King’s “Circle of Life” singer to pay almost $40,000 in comedian’s legal fees

What started out as a joke about one of Lion King’s iconic songs, almost ended up being costly for that comedian, but now it will be costly for one of the song’s writer.

Back in February comedian Learnmore Mwanyenyeka (also knowns as Jonasi) did a joke about the lyrics of Lion King’s circle of life, claiming the translated lyrics for ““Nants’ingonyama bagithi Baba” were “Look, there is a lion.  Oh my god.” which in reality translates to ““All hail the king, we all bow in the presence of the king.”

Mwanyenyeka was famously served his lawsuit from the writer Lebohang Morake while doing a live comedy set.

Now with the suit being thrown out, Morake will owe almost $40,000 to the comedian to pay his attorney fees.
