Legendary TV star and Comedian Bob Newhart has died

Bob Newhart, the deadpan accountant-turned-comedian who rose to fame with a classic comedy album, has passed away at the age of 94.
Jerry Digney, Newhart’s publicist, confirmed that the actor died in Los Angeles after a brief illness. Newhart, known for his hit TV shows in the 1970s and 1980s, started his career as a standup comic in the late 1950s.
His iconic album “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart” won a Grammy Award in 1960. He became a household name with the “Bob Newhart Show” in 1972, where he played a Chicago psychologist alongside his schoolteacher wife, Suzanne Pleshette. The show’s quirky characters provided the perfect backdrop for Newhart’s deadpan humor.
