Back in June we hosted Jordan Davis and Mitchell Tenpenny at our “Birthday Bash” show. Turns out if you bought a ticket to that show, you also helped a great cause.
That show at Denver’s Fiddler’s Green was part of a big summer tour that Jordan and Mitchell did together, and as they wrapped the tour up this last week, Jordan surprised Mitchell with a giant check.
During Friday’s (October 4) Toronto stop, the final stop on the “Damn Good Time Tour,” Davis brought out his opening act, Tenpenny, to give the singer a check for his “10Penny Fund,” a foundation dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer.
“What y’all don’t know is that a portion of the ticket sales tonight here in Toronto are going to the 10Penny Fund,” Davis announced, before adding. “It’s not just Toronto. This entire tour, every show we have played, a portion of those tickets are going to your fund to help save lives.” Davis then surprised Tenpenny with a $200,000 check donated to the 10Penny Fund. “Mitchell, I love you, buddy. You deserve every penny of it,” said Davis as the two friends shared an emotional embrace.
