As far as I am concerned John Elway will always be the G.O.A.T. of Denver sports, and he may be the best steakhouse owner in town too. Sadly though, we’re about to be down one of his famous eateries…
Elway’s Cherry Creek will have its last day on Aug. 31. The closure is due to a redevelopment project, according to the restaurant’s website.
A $1 billion redevelopment project, known as Cherry Creek West, covers the area where Elway’s, a running store and a parking lot currently stand, which will all be redeveloped.
The steakhouse says it’s working with developers to determine a new location after construction is done.
The owners, Broncos Hall of Famer John Elway and Tim Schmidt, opened Elway’s Cherry Creek 20 years ago.
After the closure, Elway’s will still have two locations at Denver International Airport, Downtown Denver, and Vail.
