A horror movie hot air balloon festival in Colorado? Is it really happening?

Mar 10, 2026, 4:15 PM | Updated: Mar 16, 2026, 11:31 am

Let me start this article with a warning before you horror movie aficionados get too excited… There is a really good chance this is NOT real, but in case it is, here is what I know.

There is a popular Facebook page known for their “Colorado click-bait” that posted a series of photos by Artist Cabel Adams over the weekend featuring numerous hot air balloons shaped like horror movie characters with a caption that simply says, “A balloon festival featuring horror themes will be held in Colorado.”

There is no other info, no website, and a lot of people (like me) who believe this is probably nothing but someone who is really good at Photoshop and likes to get a bunch of clicks and likes. If we hear any different and a horror movie miracle actually brings these things to Colorado, we’ll let you know!

P.S. – Can we talk about why the Insane Clown Posse is included amongst all these iconic horror movie characters?!
