Sure, the guy got a ton of views on YouTube, but was it worth it?
The YouTuber who posted a video of himself reaching speeds over 150 mph on his motorcycle, driving from Colorado Springs to the Denver area in 20 minutes, has reached a plea deal.
The Colorado State Patrol issued a warrant for his arrest in January on charges of menacing, engaged in a speed contest, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding 40 mph over prima facie limit, engaged in an exhibition of speed and vehicle had no number plates attached.
He was arrested in Texas in February, and now the Colorado District Attorney has confirmed that he pleaded guilty to speed exhibition.
Here’s what the plea includes:
- The defendant shall pay the maximum fine of $300 (plus a surcharge on the fine and court costs) within 24 hours of the plea.
- The defendant shall serve 14 days straight in jail. (Defendant has served 14 days in jail in connection with this case.)
- 12 points were assessed against the defendant’s driver’s license. (His privilege to drive in Colorado will be revoked by the Department of Revenue.)
- Defendant shall reimburse the People of the State of Colorado for the full cost of his extradition: $1,996.08 within 24 hours of plea.
