There was talk for awhile that Colorado may be getting Piggly Wiggly stores. That won’t be happening in the near future, but we are getting a new-to-us chain.
An Idaho-based grocery store chain is looking to expand to the Denver-metro area, bringing its budget-friendly offerings to Colorado for the first time.
Pre-application documents submitted to the City of Thornton describe WinCo Foods’ plans to construct an 84,000-square-foot grocery store on land at the southeast corner of East 164th Avenue and Washington Street.
Winco Foods also revealed a possible location in Firestone earlier this month.
WinCo Foods is an employee-owned grocery chain known for its warehouse-style stores, low prices, bulk items, with customers bagging their own groceries.
Another Colorado Whataburger location is coming, but will they ever come to Denver?
