Franks & Beers & Baseball – Coors Field Offers 9-9-9 Challenge!

The 2026 Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies is just over a week away. Although the game against the Miami Marlins has not sold out, I would say chances are good; folks from all over the front-range will eventually take advantage of a Friday night under the stadium lights in Denver.
That said, Major League Baseball, Aramark + Entertainment and Joey Chestnut (yes, the hot dog-eating guy) are offering a tasty option worth the price of an admission to Coors Field. The 9-9-9 Challenge serves up the opportunity to tickle you taste buds and test your waistline – by consuming nine flight sized beers and nine miniature hot dogs by the end of nine innings.
Off the bat, it sounds like an attainable challenge that even I feel I could crush. However, just the idea of Joey Chestnut being involved in the program’s creation is enough to give me pause (albeit a very short pause.) In addition, the only prize for completing the challenge is really just bragging rights among your friends and possibly 15 minutes of viral fame.
The 9-9-9 Challenge kicks off with the MLB season at Coors Field, March 27, 2026. Baseball fans who want to attempt the challenge, will find the beer and frank boxes sold at Fanfare in Section 139.
(P.s. There is no crying in baseball. So, if you cannot finish your franks and beers – hold in the tears until you get back to your car.)
