FDA announces peanut butter recall affecting products in Colorado

The FDA says there are 22,000 recalled peanut butter products in most of the country, including Colorado. A California-based company is recalling “single-serve” peanut butter and peanut butter and jelly products packaged under Ventura Foods LLC. The recall began after the FDA found pieces of blue plastic in a filter during production.
Some of the recalled items are creamy peanut butter packets, and the recall also includes packs that combine peanut butter with jam. Although the parent company said none of the products were sold directly to consumers, according to their website they do sell to retail, vendors and concessions in 40 states. A list of affected states is below:
