“SportsCenter” on ESPN has to be the most well-known sports television show ever, so it’s a pretty big deal when it rolls into town. This week it’ll do just that in Cheyenne, Wyoming!
The show is in the midst of its “50 States in 50 Days” event, where they showcase something unique in each state every day this summer.
Gary Striewski will anchor the 9 p.m. broadcast of SportsCenter from Cheyenne Frontier Days on Thursday.
Not only is it a cool moment for Cheyenne, it’s also an exciting moment for Striewski, who said Cheyenne Frontier Days was his first TV assignment as a reporter for KGWN in Cheyenne long before his ESPN days, and he volunteered to anchor the Cheyenne broadcast.
The nationwide “50 States in 50 Days” tour began June 27 with a broadcast from Washington, D.C. and will conclude Aug. 16 at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It’ll stop in Colorado on Aug. 9 for the Savannah Bananas game at Coors Field.
