RTD offers up to $4,000 signing bonus for new bus drivers

I had never even considered driving a city bus, but then I saw the money that you could make doing it in Denver…so, if my articles on the website suddenly stop, come ride my bus!

Denver’s Regional Transportation District is in urgent need of bus drivers, and as a result they are making candidates a pretty sweet deal! Starting pay for a bus operator is $27.65 per hour. Those who are hired will receive a $4,000 signing bonus and paid training.

RTD says the training is not easy and lasts about 12 weeks, but RTD will even provide the training to get a CDL for those who don’t have it, as it is required to drive their buses.

RTD is hosting a job fair for bus operators and other jobs on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. at RTD Platte Division (3333 Ringsby Ct., Denver, Colo. 80216).

Those who are interested can either show up in person for the job fair or apply online.
