Winning the Super Bowl or the NFL MVP Award would both be the pinnacle of accomplishments in football, but getting your picture on one of the most popular video games of all-time has to be up there too. It’s happening for a kid from Colorado!
Electronic Arts Inc. announced Tuesday (June 11) that the San Francisco 49ers star running back, and Denver area native, Christian McCaffrey, will be on the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 25 that launches worldwide on Aug. 16.
McCaffrey, the son of Denver Broncos great Ed McCaffrey, was born and raised in Castle Rock, CO. Christian graduated from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch in 2014 before going to Stanford University, where his father and mother both attended college.
Christian’s parents still live in Colorado, so he’s seen visiting his home state often during the NFL offseason, most recently at Red Rocks, where he joined country star Zach Bryan onstage to play the keyboard.
McCaffrey is the first running back on the Madden cover since 2014, when Barry Sanders was on the worldwide cover and Adrian Peterson was on an alternate version for PS4 and XBox One.
