Denver is building a new soccer stadium at Broadway and I-25 — Here’s what it’ll look like

A city that already proved this summer it could out-party every World Cup host city in America is now getting a permanent home for its women’s soccer team — and it just got a closer look at what it’s going to look like.
Denver Summit FC released updated renderings of its future stadium at Santa Fe Yards, located at South Broadway and I-25, with construction officially scheduled to begin this fall. The updated plans feature expanded “social spaces” throughout the venue — areas designed for fans to “connect, celebrate and build matchday traditions” before, during and after games — a direct result of fan and community feedback, the club said. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston posted the renderings on Instagram Sunday, writing that he’s “cheering for the new and inspiring future of the Denver Summit stadium.”
The permanent home is part of a massive 43-acre site that will feature a 12,000-seat stadium, seven additional fields and a 20,000-square-foot performance center purpose-built for professional women’s soccer. For a franchise that’s barely six months old, the ambition is staggering — and so is the evidence that Denver wants it. Summit FC set the NWSL’s single-game attendance record at its very first home game back in March, and just this past Saturday the club opened its temporary Centennial Stadium with a 2-1 win over Portland — a game that featured USWNT star and Colorado native Lindsey Heaps making her Summit FC debut wearing the captain’s armband.
The timeline has shifted slightly. The Denver Business Journal reported that the permanent stadium opening is being pushed back because it took longer than expected to secure city funding for the land purchase. The franchise agreement originally required a permanent stadium for the 2028 season, but the opening is now “slipping into extra time,” as the DBJ put it. For now, Summit FC will continue playing at Centennial Stadium in the south metro area.
