Denver Broncos fan or not, if you’ve been around Denver for the past decade and a half there’s a really good chance you’ve seen the “Mile High Monster.” The guy who dresses up in giant orange pom-poms to cheer on the Broncos.
Sadly, the man behind the iconic costume, Kerry Green, passed away a few hours before the Broncos kicked off their game this past Sunday (Oct. 8).
According to his family, Green was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who passed down his love of the Broncos through generations. He was a 2nd generation ticket holder with tickets that ran in the family since 1965.
For 15 years, he showed up with his son dressed in an orange pom-pom costume to every Broncos home game. The duo became known as the Mile High Monsters and gained a Facebook following for their costumes.
The family set up a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses and medical bills.
