Madden simulation sends Broncos to the Super Bowl, names Bo Nix MVP

Aug 13, 2026, 4:03 PM

Look, I know a Madden simulation is about as scientifically reliable as a Magic 8-Ball, but when the video game says the Denver Broncos are going to the Super Bowl, you publish that story.

For the ninth straight year, Yahoo Sports simulated a full NFL season using the Madden video game, and the results are, depending on your rooting interest, either prophetic or laughable. The simulation picked the Dallas Cowboys to beat the Broncos 31-14 in the Super Bowl behind a dominant rushing attack led by, of all people, Dak Prescott. The Cowboys currently carry some of the longest odds of any real-life contender, which tells you everything you need to know about the simulation’s grip on reality.

But here’s where it gets fun for Denver: Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was named league MVP after throwing for more than 5,000 yards and 41 touchdowns. Sure, it’s Madden. But 5,000 yards is 5,000 yards, and we will be citing this simulation in every group chat, barstool argument and message board debate from now until kickoff.

Other highlights: Raiders rookie Fernando Mendoza won Offensive Rookie of the Year, T.J. Watt took Defensive Player of the Year, the Buccaneers posted the league’s best record, and the New York Jets finished 2-15, which, honestly, is the most realistic thing in the entire simulation.

Yahoo Sports cautioned that the Madden sim is “often way off.” To which Denver fans say: sure, but show us the part about Bo Nix and the Super Bowl one more time.
