Darius Rucker’s unlikely friendship and Jelly Roll’s lifestyle change motivator | Music City Minute

I love hearing about surprising friendships like Darius Rucker and Gene Simmons. Apparently, the music men have been thick as thieves for decades. The KISS front man even has a special nickname for Darius — “Old Man River.” Simmons chose the moniker because he believes Rucker is a crooner. Hootie wrote an entire chapter on their unlikely friendship called “Detroit Rock City” which is featured in his new memoir, “Life’s Too Short.”

Jelly Roll and Bunny XO are trying to expand their family, and, that has been the biggest motivator for Jelly’s lifestyle change. In a recent interview, Jelly Roll admitted that he never thought he’d live past 55. However, if they are able to conceive, he said he needs to live to at least 60 to see the kid into college. Sounds like the nesting phase has already begun for the happy couple. The family just purchased a 400-acre property dubbed their “forever farm” in Tennessee.
