Colorado Police Departments are Starting to Use Lassos to Rope Bad Guys

For years I have gone to rodeos and watched the athletes rope calves, thinking to myself this would be a great tool for police officers on the street too. Well, now it is!

It’s a high-tech lasso called a BolaWrap that tethers bad guys. A handheld device shoots out the tether at 350 mph, giving police the option of a new hands-off approach.

In Colorado, 16 law enforcement departments have bought the device.
