I am no genius, but I do know you don’t show up to court drunk… Especially if it’s for a drinking-related offense… And more so if you’re a lawyer!
Colorado lawyer Denise Kay had been nailed on three DUI charges in a year-and-a-half time period. So, she agreed plead guilty to the charges. Then, in January, it was time for sentencing. But there was a problem, the judge had reason to “question whether she was under the influence and ordered her to submit to a preliminary breath test.” That test registered a potent .324, which is more than four-times the legal limit in Colorado.
That misstep saw her held in contempt and landed her in jail for three days, and all of this reportedly happened after Kay had already had her license revoked, was on probation, and ordered to use an interlock device in her car to prevent her from further DUI incidents.
