Colorado’s biggest airline, United, suffered yet another setback Friday when their flight from San Francisco to Aspen was first delayed 15 hours because of unknown issues. But then as KRON4 in the Bay Area reported, the flight was then delayed another 2 hours.
United’s own website acknowledged the over-17 hour delay for the flight which was set to take off to Aspen on March 23 at 4 p.m,
The consistent string of safety related events has triggered the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to increase it’s oversight of United Airlines to ensure the airline is complying with safety regulations.
United Airlines Vice President of Corporate Safety, Sasha Johnson, has stated, “The number of safety-related events in recent weeks have rightfully caused us to pause and evaluate whether there is anything we can and should do differently. After all, safety is foundational to the success of our airline and we can never take it for granted.”
