The list of nominees will be updated as winners are announced.

The 23rd Country Music Television Awards marked the first of four shows completely dedicated to country music in 2024. The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, April 7, at 7 p.m. MT in Austin, Texas, at the Moody Center. Matching his success from last year’s awards, Jelly Roll was the winningest artist, taking home three awards.

The CMT Awards honor country music videos and television performances specifically. For the fourth year in a row, the show was hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, although this was her first year hosting solo. Along with the American Country Awards, the winners of the CMT Awards are determined by voters.

Apart from the awards themselves, the event featured a tribute to the late Toby Keith, who died earlier this year on February 5 due to stomach cancer. The tribute included Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson and Sammy Hagar, all backed by Keith’s longtime band members. The awards also provided the stage for the reunion of Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, who have not performed together since 2011.

An award slightly different from the nine others — the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award — was presented to Trisha Yearwood during the ceremony. The honor, this being its inaugural year, is given to an artist, duo/group or industry veteran who selflessly serves.

Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney and Cody Johnson were nominated for three awards each. After the Video of the Year nominees were narrowed down to three on Sunday, Ballerini, Jelly Roll and Cody Johnson were all in a position to take home as many as three awards.

The event aired on CBS and is available on demand with Paramount+ and Showtime.
