I’m not sure about you, but when I am sitting on a bench and someone I don’t want to sit next to comes and sits down next to me, I get up and leave.
A guy in Denver recently took that situation to a much more violent level… Certified public accountant Ryan Egelston, who calls himself a “certified joy enthusiast” online with a “deep passion to preach and teach the Word of God,” was arrested Sunday for attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly attacked two people in Washington Park.
One of the victims was allegedly shot by Egelston after his companion asked to sit on a park bench next to the CPA.
The police report states that “the defendant was observed by several witnesses spitting on the victim, pushing the victim in the chest, and eventually punching the victim once in the lower back.” Egelston allegedly then pulled out a gun as the victim was walking away and fired a shot.
He claimed to police that he thought the people he attacked were part of a “psy-ops” mission aimed at him.
