Buy cookies, support St. Jude: An eight-year-old’s fundraiser at Landmark Lincoln might be the best thing happening in Denver this weekend

A girl named Adi is setting up a cookie stand at a car dealership to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That’s it. That’s the story. And it’s wonderful.

Adi’s Cookie Stand Fundraiser is happening Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Landmark Lincoln, 5000 S. Broadway in Englewood — right at Broadway and Belleview, about 15 minutes south of downtown Denver. The dealership, which has been a Denver-area fixture since 1919, is hosting the event and has been promoting it all week across social media with the kind of enthusiasm you don’t usually see from a car dealer talking about baked goods.

“Cookies with a cause,” Landmark Lincoln wrote on Facebook. “We’re so excited to host Adi’s Cookie Stand Fundraiser right here at Landmark Lincoln! Stop by, grab some delicious treats, and help us support the incredible mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”

Here’s what makes this more than just a cute photo op: Adi is 8 years old, she’s from Salida — a small mountain town about two and a half hours southwest of Denver — and she has raised more than $80,000 for St. Jude since she was five. It started in 2022 when she learned what St. Jude does for families of kids fighting cancer and asked her mom if she could help. She walked a St. Jude 5K in Denver that year and raised more than $2,000. The next year, she skipped a birthday party and set up a cookie stand instead, asking for donations rather than presents. That grew into dozens of cookie stands a year, plus bake sales, spaghetti dinners and Pampered Chef parties. She raised $15,000 in 2024, blew past her goal in 2025, and this year has set her sights on $75,000. “I just want to be a good friend, a good person to St. Jude, so that they don’t have a harder time,” she told KKTV. The kid has a website, a Facebook page, an Instagram following and a fundraising track record that would make most nonprofits jealous — and she’s in third grade.

St. Jude — which treats children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases and never sends a family a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food — is one of our favorite charities at KYGO, and this is just another way you can support the incredible work being done there.

The event is open to the public. You don’t need to be shopping for a Lincoln Navigator to walk in and buy a cookie — although if you do both, that’s a pretty solid Saturday.
