Burgers at Denver-favorite Jim’s Burger Haven may taste different after one ingredient goes ‘extinct’

If you were to ask a bunch of people around Denver who has the best burger, you’d get Jim’s Burger Haven from a lot of them, but their iconic burgers may be changing a bit because of something totally out of their control.
For the last 15 years, the buns for their famous big smash burgers on a 6-inch bun were custom-made for Jim’s by Aspen Baking Company, a commercial bakery that was founded in 1994. Much to the surprise of Jim’s, the bun supplier didn’t show up for their regular delivery on Saturday, March 7, and has since informed the burger joint that the company was “bought” and is no longer delivering.
Between its two locations, Jim’s typically goes through 250 to 275 dozen six-inch buns per week, as the buns are used for non-burger items also, like the Italian sandwich and hot dogs.
Until Jim’s can find a new supplier, options are getting a 6” burger on butter griddled bread or a 4” bun.
Jim’s Burger Haven has locations at 595 East 88th Avenue in Thornton and 7855 Sheridan Boulevard in Westminster.
