After the Denver Broncos decided to make the decision to move on from quarterback Russell Wilson, they’ve needed to find a way to create salary cap space for Wilson’s contract.
According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Broncos have traded wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for two draft picks in this year’s NFL Draft.
There were rumblings before last season’s trade deadline that the Broncos were receiving calls for Jeudy, but Denver’s asking price was too high for teams.
By trading Jeudy away, the Browns will take on his contract off of Denver’s hands of $12.9 million.
Denver also reworked the contract of wide receiver Tim Patrick by keeping him for the 2024 season for the veteran minimum of just over $1 million.
Currently, the Broncos have Patrick, Courtland Sutton, and speedster Marvin Mims Jr. as their top three pass catchers in their WR room.
In his four seasons with the Broncos, Jeudy caught 211 passes for 3,053 yards and found the endzone just 11 times.
