Broncos’ Season Ends in Heartbreaking 10–7 Loss

Jan 25, 2026, 4:08 PM | Updated: 4:11 pm

The Broncos’ magical season came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 10–7 loss to the New England Patriots at Empower Field.

Denver’s defense did everything it could to keep the Broncos in the game, but the offense struggled to overcome the absence of quarterback Bo Nix, who was sidelined following his season-ending injury. The Broncos struck early with a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton, but were unable to generate any additional scoring over the final three quarters.

A costly first-half turnover proved to be the difference, setting the Patriots up with a short field in the red zone and leading to a short touchdown run by Drake Maye

Denver had a chance to tie the game late, lining up for a 45-yard field goal with under six minutes remaining, but the kick was tipped at the line and sailed wide.

Weather also played a major role, as snow began to blanket the field after halftime, turning the game into a defensive battle and making offensive execution difficult for both teams.

Despite the disappointing ending, the Broncos’ season will be remembered as a major step forward and one that restored hope and excitement to Broncos Country.
