We are pretty bless on the front range of Colorado to have two amazing zoos only about an hour and a half drive apart. One of them was just given an extremely high honor by USA Today!

Colorado Springs’ mountainside zoo, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, was recently ranked the second-best zoo in the country, according to USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo earned the second-place spot for Best Zoo Membership, and the zoo’s Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit, which is home to animals native to the Rocky Mountain region, was voted as the second-best zoo exhibit nationwide.

The zoo has ranked in the top ten for the last nine years, but this year is the zoo’s highest ranking yet.

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, Nebraska took first place.
