The Denver Broncos still haven’t lost in their throwback uniforms – Is it time to make them permanent?

Some Broncos fans have lucky socks. Some have a lucky chair. The team may have found something better: lucky uniforms. Denver beat the Seattle Seahawks in overtime Thursday night while wearing its Orange Crush throwbacks, and the Broncos are now a perfect 6-0 in those uniforms since bringing them back in 2024.
The look is hard to miss. It has bright orange jerseys with big white numbers, the classic “D” helmet on a Legacy Blue shell, and orange-and-blue striped socks straight out of 1977. It’s a fan favorite, and so far the team hasn’t lost in it. That raises a question Broncos Country keeps asking on social media: why not wear them every week? Right now, the only other throwback game on the 2026 schedule is Week 18 against the Chargers. Fans may have to wait until January for the next round of good luck.
Uniforms can only do so much, and the team’s real strength right now is its defense. Against Seattle, a franchise-record-tying 12 different Broncos hit quarterback Sam Darnold, and the defense did it without star cornerback Pat Surtain II and safety Talanoa Hufanga, who were both out with ankle injuries. Defensive lineman Zach Allen is playing like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. Vance Joseph’s group has carried the team through a brutal six-game opening stretch.
The offense is a different story. Bo Nix threw for just 107 yards Thursday, five days after throwing for 123 against the Chargers, and none of his passes went more than eight yards downfield. “I don’t understand why we can’t really push the ball vertically right now,” Nix said. Nix has still won more of his first 40 starts than John Elway or Peyton Manning, so he keeps finding ways to win. The Broncos get a long weekend off before heading to Arizona on Oct. 25. Maybe Sean Payton should pack the orange jerseys just in case.
