McDonald’s Is Bringing Back Fried Apple Pies and Honestly, America Deserves This

Listen up, Denver — McDonald’s is giving us all a reason to celebrate America’s 250th birthday beyond just sweating through a parade.
The fast food giant announced Tuesday it’s bringing back its iconic fried apple pies for the first time in over 30 years. Yes, FRIED. Not baked. Not air-fried. Actually fried. Starting June 23, you can grab one at most U.S. locations for a limited time.
As a mom who grew up eating those crispy, mouth-burning little pockets of joy, this news genuinely made my whole week. My pre-teen daughters had no idea what they’ve been missing, and honestly? I feel sorry for them.
McDonald’s isn’t the only one getting patriotic in the drive-thru lane. A few other fast food chains are also celebrating America’s semiquincentennial — that’s a real word, look it up:
- Taco Bell bringing back the ENCHIRITO tomorrow for only a few days! (MY FAVORITE)
- Burger King debuted a Firecracker Cookie Pie with red, white and blue star sprinkles
- Sonic is offering a red, white and blue slush float for $2.50
- Hardee’s has an iced Star-Spangled Biscuit with festive sprinkles
So this Fourth of July, skip the fancy dessert stress and just hit the drive-thru.
You’re welcome.
