While there were definitely storms happening around the Denver Metro Area on Monday afternoon, there was not, in fact, a tornado that had residents in imminent danger and requiring a tornado siren to be activated, and yet one went off.
Today a spokesperson for the Office of Emergency Management revealed that it was a result of “human error” and was not any malfunction with the alarm or any of their technology.
The sirens were heard throughout Denver including the Capitol Hill and City Park neighborhoods, but no word on how many of Denver’s 86 sirens were activated.
