Colorado Air National Guard F-16s to roar over 10 communities for Memorial Day

May 21, 2026, 4:06 PM

Make sure you look up to the Colorado skies on Monday (May 25). F-16 Fighting Falcon jets from the Colorado Air National Guard’s 140th Wing will thunder across the state in a Memorial Day tribute to fallen service members.

The flyovers will begin in Greeley at 10:12 a.m. and sweep across Colorado through the early afternoon, passing over 10 communities from the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope before finishing along the Front Range. The full schedule includes Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, 10:12 a.m.; Veterans Memorial Park in Silver Cliff, 10:36 a.m.; Homelake Cemetery, 10:43 a.m.; Silverton Memorial Park, 10:56 a.m.; VFW Post 4031 in Durango, 11:02 a.m.; Nucla Cemetery, 11:13 a.m.; Western Colorado Veterans Cemetery in Grand Junction, 11:24 a.m.; Grand Lake, 11:48 a.m.; Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, 11:58 a.m.; and Folsom Field in Boulder at 12:07 p.m.

“Our Memorial Day flyovers are a way to honor the ultimate sacrifice of our fallen service members,” said Col. Benjamin “Scrappy” Couchman, 140th Wing commander. “These flyovers are a deeply personal way for us to connect with the communities we serve. We stand with our neighbors in reflection, honoring the high cost of freedom and ensuring those who gave everything are never forgotten.”

The holiday weekend tribute also includes a Saturday helicopter flyover of the Colorado Freedom Memorial in Aurora, conducted by the Army Aviation Support Facility at Buckley Space Force Base for the Colorado Remembers America 250–Colorado 150 ceremony. All flyover times are estimates and subject to change due to weather or operational requirements. Even if you are not near one of the scheduled locations, the Guard says residents may spot the jets as they transit between stops.
