First LeBron James possibly joining the Denver Nuggets and now this??
The Denver Broncos moved quickly this week to shut down rumors linking the team to free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers, calling the speculation “absurd” and reaffirming their commitment to Bo Nix.
Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday that the Broncos were considering bringing in Rodgers, the four-time NFL MVP, for a possible visit. Within hours, the team pushed back.
“Aaron Rodgers is not coming to Denver for a visit,” the Broncos said. “When the Broncos take the field to start OTAs, they will be quarterbacked by Bo Nix.”
A team source described the rumor as having “a zero percent chance of happening now.
Nix, 25, broke a bone in his ankle during the Broncos’ playoff win over the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 17 and underwent season-ending surgery. Backup Jarrett Stidham started the AFC championship game in his place. General Manager George Paton said at the NFL owners meetings this week that Nix is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
Rodgers, 42, is a free agent after spending the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who lost to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round. He has not committed to playing in 2026. The initial report suggested coach Sean Payton could be tempted by Rodgers as a one-year upgrade, noting Payton’s ambition to become the first coach to win a Super Bowl with two different franchises.
