Starbucks customers accuse baristas of hoarding teddy bear cups

Nov 7, 2025, 4:06 PM | Updated: 4:07 pm

As a fan of Starbucks cups, this makes me sad. I hope this is not true, but here is what the internet is saying about trying to get the new “bearista” cups.

The giant headline: ‘Starbucks’ viral bearista cup is already causing mayhem: ‘I will fight you for it’’

The Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup, part of the 2025 holiday merchandise, sold out quickly after its release, leaving fans frustrated.

Many customers reported that their local stores received limited stock, with some alleging that employees purchased the cups before opening. The scarcity of the cups has led some fans to turn to resale platforms like eBay, where they are being sold at marked-up prices.

Starbucks issued a statement acknowledging the overwhelming demand and assured fans that more holiday merchandise is on the way.

Some are claiming that the baristas reserved the bears for themselves so customers didn’t have a fair chance to get one.

Others are mad that each location was only stocked with a few of the cups in the first place.

One customer complained, “Like, what was the point of the release if there was no chance? I was in the front of the line at opening, and not one bear was there!”

Have you found them? Where did you get yours?
