‘Black Phone 2’ movie takes number one spot

Oct 20, 2025, 11:33 AM | Updated: 2:39 pm

“Black Phone 2” proves moviegoers weren’t too scared of who might be on the other end of that ringing phone, as it was the number one movie October 17 through 19!

The sequel to the horror franchise, which features The Grabber, joined a healthy list of horror movies that all were number one in 2025 such as “Weapons,” “Sinners” and “The Conjuring.”

The film, which keeps its setting in Colorado, though this time moving to the mountains, brought in $26.5 million in theaters, easily beating the number two movies, which were “Tron: Ares,” which continues its disappointing time in theaters, only making $11.1 million.

Given that the original “Black Phone” movie only brought in $23.6 million in its opening weekend, many are looking at the bigger box office as a positive sign for a the franchise.
