We find ourselves complaining about the influx in businesses asking for tips a lot these days, but in Denver, we may be more likely to actually do it.

Dining rewards app inKind looked at tipping trends nationwide to find the cities with the most generous tippers. They analyzed tips at more than 4,500 partner restaurants across the country and found they don’t all tip equally.

According to their data, Denver has the best tippers. The average tip percentage here is 21.18 percent.

So, where are people stingy to their servers? San Francisco is the least generous, but tips there still average 18.77 percent.

The study also finds that tipping varies at different times of the year. January sees the highest gratuities, while September has the lowest.

The 10 best-tipping U.S. cities

  1. Denver, Colorado (average tip 21.18 percent)
  2. Austin, Texas (21.06 percent)
  3. Seattle, Washington (20.98 percent)
