Broncos sign defensive star to $120 million contract extension

The Denver Broncos have agreed on a contract extension with All-Pro pass rusher, Nik Bonitto.

According to NFL insider, Jordan Schultz, the extension is four years worth up to $120 million with $70 million guaranteed.

Mike Klis of 9News reports that the deal is really worth $106 million and Bonitto can get up to that $120 million mark if he hits all of his incentives. Bonitto was scheduled to make $5.35 in final year of rookie contract.

This new deal makes Bonitto the 10th-highest paid edge rusher in the NFL and has become the highest paid defensive player in Broncos history.

Last season, Bonitto led the team with 13.5 sacks and had 24 quarterback hits. Bonitto also scored two defensive touchdowns last year.

So far this year, the Broncos have also given extensions to defensive lineman, Zach Allen and wide receiver, Courtland Sutton.

The Broncos will host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday September 7 at 2:05 on Fox.
